Group Support Employment

Group Support Employment (GSE): GSE offers an introduction into the workplace and provides a solid, comfortable platform for individuals to launch into new, professional skills. Participants learn and gain vital information about becoming an employee, resume writing, interview skills, and are offered the opportunity for volunteer and paid work. This service will provide our members with the opportunity to work in the environment that allows them for maximum interaction in the community and among various businesses, with job coaching support. GSE assists our members in developing skills, abilities and behaviors that will enable them to realize their potentials and support their transition into a more independent employment setting if they so desire, and helps members maintain positive work-related habit, as well as assists members to become a part of the workforce most fully. Participants are assessed by a job coach/supervisor prior to any compensated or volunteer work.

SKILLS ASSESSMENT: Preferred Health Choice will determine members skills, interests, and capabilities.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Identify goals and objectives of the member.
LEARNING ASSISTANCE: Preferred Health Choice will help the member learn the skills necessary to accomplish goals.
JOB TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: Preferred Health Choice will provide members with opportunities for job training.
REVIEW PROGRESS: Preferred Health Choice will review each member’s progress.

Provide members with the opportunity to work in an environment that allows for maximum interaction among diverse populations.
Grant members with gainful, productive, and paid work.
To support members in developing skills, abilities, and behaviors that will enable them to realize their vocational aspirations including most fully supporting their transition into a more independent employment setting.
To help members maintain positive work habits, attitudes, skills, and work etiquette directly related to their specific employment, as well as assisting the member to become a part of the informal culture of the workplace.
